Building better for people and the planet.
Since 2019, sustainability has been embedded in how Falkbuilt designs, manufactures, and delivers interiors. We take a transparent view of how we measure performance, manage risk, and continuously improve across our environmental, social, and governance priorities.
Our approach helps customers, employees, and partners understand how we identify and manage sustainability-related risks and opportunities while supporting responsible growth.
Reducing waste, emissions, and material impact.
Workforce stability, safety, training, and community engagement.
Accountability, oversight, transparency, and compliance.
The buildings and construction sector accounts for a large share of global energy use and a significant portion of global emissions. Much of that impact comes from how interiors are traditionally delivered — with high levels of waste, rework, and short product life cycles. Falkbuilt takes a different approach.
Through Digital Component Construction and our Echo technology platform, every component is digitally defined before production begins. This improves accuracy, reduces errors, and allows work to be completed in a controlled factory environment instead of on active sites.
Factory production reduces onsite waste, dust, and disruption.
Flat-packed components reduce freight volume and material handling.
Digital coordination supports faster delivery, with schedule reductions of up to 40% compared to conventional construction (depending on project scope and conditions).
Shorter schedules reduce temporary power use, equipment runtime, and overall site impact.
Components are designed to last and to be reconfigured rather than removed and replaced — spaces retain digital information so future changes can be planned accurately instead of relying on demolition and rework, reducing material waste over a building's life.
We give customers clear, verified information about the environmental impact of our products so they can make informed material choices.
Falkbuilt holds Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for its Kai and Lydia glass wall systems and the McNally Solid Wall. We continue to work with suppliers to increase recycled content and expand sustainability certifications across the product range. Longer product lifecycles reduce replacement, lowering waste and overall material demand — and the ability to repurpose components delivers environmental benefits while improving long-term value for clients.
We point European and UK clients to the recognised standards relevant to our products and operations. The standards below are drafted for the European edition — each is subject to confirmation by The Torrington Group before publication, and any credential still in progress is labelled as such.
Environmental Product Declarations to EN 15804 / ISO 14025 — the European benchmark for verified product impact.
EN 15804 STATUS — CONFIRMIndoor air emissions tested to EN 16516 — e.g. Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort, EMICODE, M1, French A+ or Blue Angel.
EU EQUIVALENT — CONFIRMChain-of-custody certification for timber-based components, supporting responsible sourcing.
CONFIRMCertification supporting our design-for-disassembly and circular-economy approach.
IN PROGRESS — CONFIRMFlat-packed shipping reduces the number of shipments required, improves loading efficiency, and simplifies handling on site. We have replaced the foam previously used between cladding panels with a recyclable paper-based alternative, removing foam from the waste stream so that nearly all packaging arriving on site can be recycled (subject to local recycling programmes).
Offsite manufacturing lets us control material use and recycling more effectively than conventional on-site construction. Factory recycling programmes divert metals, mixed materials, strapping, and offcuts from landfill, and our DuraFalk surface finish improves durability while helping reduce factory waste.
Our people are central to how we work. We focus on workforce stability, safety, training, and community engagement — supporting advancement, inclusive teams, and fair pay.
Strong governance supports long-term stability. Independent oversight, open communication, and consistent compliance practices help ensure we grow responsibly.
Falkbuilt aligns its priorities with the UN Sustainable Development Goals — focusing on gender equality and women in leadership, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infrastructure, sustainable cities and communities, and responsible production and consumption.
Reduce paper consumption through monthly monitoring and expanded digital workflows.
Maintain emissions tracking to guide efficiency improvements.
Increase recycled content through supplier collaboration.
